eligible to participate in the Outreach Project an organization must:

- What if my organization does
not meet the criteria for participation?
Unfortunately, not everyone is eligible for
participation in the HIV/AIDS Information Outreach Project. If your organization
does not meet the two eligibility criteria, or is outside of the New York Metropolitan
Area, the Academy Library has other options for your organization to benefit from the use
of its resources.
- If you are a not-for-profit organization, BUT are not primarily
AIDS-related, please see the information on
the Library's Corporate Subscribers
Program. (Please note that the fee for not-for-profits is
only $600/year.)

What if I am an
individual looking for information on HIV/AIDS?
Individuals seeking information regarding HIV/AIDS should visit, or
contact the Academy Library.
The Library is open to the general public
without charge,
Monday - Friday,
9am - 5pm.
- A reference librarian is available at all times to assist individuals with research and
information needs. Telephone reference service to verify Library holdings, provide
brief factual information or definitions, and/or physician information is available by
calling (212) 822-7321. Members of the general public are, however,
subject to charges for Library services above and beyond basic reference and research
consultation.

- Library materials do not circulate outside of the building. Photocopy services
are available on-site for $0.25/page.

- Are there any services or
information that the Outreach does NOT provide?
- The Outreach Project does not provide the following:
- legal advice or services
- help with immigration or visa status
- funding for research or other projects even if they are AIDS-related
- physician referrals
- treatment consultation or other direct medical services to individuals
A number of the organizations participating in the Outreach can and will provide these
services. Please consult the list of particpating organizations on our Homepage, or the list of New York City AIDS
Resources to select an organization with services that are appropriate for your needs.
